Event: On March 15, the Serbian Ministry of Health announced 55 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Serbia.
On March 15, the government of Serbia declared a State of Emergency regarding COVID-19 in Serbia. The language of the State of Emergency is available on the government website.
The government of Serbia has implemented enhanced screening and quarantine measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Serbia has barred admission to all foreigners with limited exceptions including airline and transportation crews, diplomats, and foreign nationals with a Serbian residence permit. Anyone entering Serbia from abroad, except for airline and transportation crews, will be subject to a 14-day or 28-day self-quarantine, depending on the location from which they traveled to Serbia. Travelers should be prepared for further travel restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice. The government of Serbia has implemented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. Schools and universities are closed until further notice, sporting events, festivals, and gatherings larger than 50 people have been banned. Public transportation services have been reduced.
