Celebrate democracy this 4th of July by registering to vote in the 2020 U.S. elections!
In order to vote in the November 2020 elections, all overseas U.S. citizens need to have completed and submitted a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) in 2020. Whether you are a first-time voter, or have already received ballots and voted absentee in past elections, you must complete an FPCA each year to participate in elections as an overseas absentee voter.
U.S. citizens can drop off their completed FPCA voter registration forms at the Consular Access gate at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, during normal working hours. U.S. Embassy guards will accept these forms for processing, and you must show a valid photo ID and wait until your envelope has been scanned before you leave. These FPCA voter registration forms will then be forwarded to the United States via diplomatic pouch.
Step 1: download and complete a FPCA voter registration form, found here: https://www.fvap.gov/eo/overview/materials/forms. Do not forget to sign and date your form.
Step 2: fold page two of the FPCA voter registration form into an envelope and seal it. If you use page two as an envelope, U.S. postage will be covered.
Step 3: drop your completed FPCA voter registration form, in the sealed envelope you just created, at our Consular Access gate during normal working hours.
If you take these (3) steps, your FPCA voter registration form will be forwarded by diplomatic pouch to the United States, and then onward to its final destination. You may choose to follow up with your state election officials in a few weeks, to ensure that they have received your FPCA voter registration form. They may also be able to provide an estimate of how and when you will receive your absentee ballot for the November 2020 elections.
Information on how to later submit your November 2020 absentee ballot at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade will be posted on our website and sent out by Mascot message in the near future.
