The Digital Communication Network Belgrade forum will focus on voices of new and independent media and entrepreneurs, with the goal of increasing their quality and footprint in the current global context. Bloggers, podcasters, web TV content creators, and all those interested in an open and fair information space will interact with peers attending from over 15 countries for 2 days of sessions focusing on content creation, distribution, monetization, impact, and networking as well and the interaction between information providers, consumers, civil society and governments.
Participants will explore issues such as the overall landscape of new media, impact of the internet and social media on journalism and society, creating compelling content for new media platforms, fact checking, branding independent media and communication outlets, financial and legal aspects of new media, innovation and entrepreneurship, and connections to social movements, among others.
The forum is funded by the U.S. Department of State Office of Citizen Exchanges and organized by the Digital Communication Network (DCN) and World Learning with support from the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade.
