This is an update to the September 16 Message for U.S. Citizens<http://serbia.usembassy.gov/messages-and-notices-for-us-citizens/hugary_serbian_border.html> advising of Hungary-Serbia border crossing closures at Horgos-Roszke (E75 Highway) and Backi Vinogradi-Asotthalom.
Violence has been reported in the vicinity of the closed border crossings and the potential for continued violence or an escalation of violence is high. U.S. citizens should avoid the closed border crossings and monitor local news for travel updates. U.S. citizens should also be prepared to arrange alternate routes and modes of transport as needed.
Review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news stations for updates. Be vigilant and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security.
